About the Winery/Winemaker

My husband, Scott manages Classic Wines while I manage the fruit growing and packaging operations of High Country Orchards & Vineyards and Colterris Wines. Scott and I met in the wine industry and dreamt some day to have a vineyard and produce premium wine. We purchased our first peach orchard in 1999 and by 2005 when I decided to leave the corporate world to begin the work of planting vineyards and creating a line of world class premium quality wines, we had accumulated over 65 acres of peach orchards and vineyard land. Today we have grown to 25 acres of wine grapes (cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc and petit verdot), 71 acres of peaches (28 varieties), 15 acres of sweet cherries (bing and rainier) and 15 acres of apricots, plums and miscellaneous fruits for a total of 126 acres. The name of my wine line, Colterris, means “from the Colorado land”. The Colterris 2008 Cabernet is the culmination of a dream and at this time is the only wine varietal bottled for Colterris Wines.
