This 2011 Fortune Seeker is comprised of a blend of 68% Petit Verdot, 16% Syrah, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Not surprisingly, there is a strong bouquet of flowers, red and blue fruit along with vanilla and toast from the oak. This wine is dense, yet light on the palate. Flavors of dried meat, dark fruit, tobacco, herbs, flowers, some garrigue and a few spicy notes. The tannins are smooth and the finish is long. 144 cases produced.
The fortune Seeker I have had for about 2 years now. I decided to open it because I was having a steak for dinner. This wine did not disappoint. It went amazing with dinner and then continued on after. It is a bigger wine than I had remembered. Ruby Trust Cellars is one of my favorite Colorado Wineries... Ray and Braden do an amazing job at doing it right. Although they will tell you they are small...they have a huge following!
I encourage you to visit them.. they are by appointment only. Get on their mailing list so you know when they have upcoming events. They do get volunteers during crush time.
