I talk alot about the experience you receive at the Tasting Room. The one thing I love is when I am the center of attention. :) Don't hate. But for me, the experience will either get me to come back or make me stay away and whether or not I will recommend the wine or not. I am interested in the wine and the people that make it.. I don't go just to sling back wine. I want to remember, enjoy and experience the passion that goes into every bottle.
I am pleased to say that we had a great experience at Rex Hill Winery. Katie greeted us as well came in and proceeded to give us a great experience. Rachel came in and finished with us and was equally wonderful.
While I was there, I had to see if Mike was available to say "hi" and to see if he remembered me. The picture above was taken the night we had dinner at Rex Hill with our Bloggers Conference. How did we end up here.. We had to get on one of about 7 buses. We had no idea where they were going until we arrived. I am excited we ended up at a great place. The bottle I am holding is called a Salmanazar (which can hold 12 bottles of wine) of Pinot Noir. We did not finish the bottle, although we tried!
Yes, Mike was there and came out to say hi and yes, he remembered. These are the experiences I am talking about.
Here is our lineup that we tasted.
- 2011 Rex Hill Dijon Clone Chardonnay
- 2011 Rex Hill Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
- 2011 Rex Hill Sims Vineyard Pinot Noir
- 2011 Rex Hill Alloro Vineyard Pinot Noir
Thanks again for a wonderful time... and yes, I will be back!
