2011 Colorado WineFest Denver

This was the first time the Colorado WineFest Denver was held.  Normally you would wait until the Colorado Mountain WineFest that is held in Palisade's in Sept. But this year the people in charge, our very own Brooke Web with Mesa Park Vineyards was part of the planning, put on a great event!  50 of Colorado Wineries were in attendance

June 11, 2011 started out very overcast and a bit iffy on whether it would rain or not.  We left from Colorado Springs around 9:30am for our fun and exciting day!  We got to Northfield Stapleton around lunch time so we tried a new restaurant called La Sandia.  It was Mexican food and it was quite yummy.  We finished up around noon and decided to go to Stapleton where the homes are because I love that area and one day hope to live there.  Anyhow, we looked around awhile and then went back to Northfield and stopped in at, well, every mans fantasy place, The Bass Pro Shop!

I was so infatuated with all the stuffed animals that I started taking pictures. I hope no one ever gets locked in and has to spend the night there... Although it could be a dream come true for some.

So, while we were being entertained by dead wildlife, the rain came and went.  By 2:30pm the sun came out and made the wine festival spectacular.  It was warm, sunny, and clear!

One of the things I really liked about this festival is that you received tickets to food vendors for samplings of their food.  This is important so people will actually eat and not just drink.  The food was awesome! Big shout out to Ling & Louie's Asian Bar and Grill, La Sandia Tequila Cantina, and Wahoo Fish Taco.

The wineries did a great job!  It was amazing how fast that 6 hours went by.  Good times, Good food, and Good wine!

Find the wineries you tasted and leave a comment on their profile page.  Let us know what you tasted and what you thought!
Leave us your thoughts on the Wine Festival itself and let us know what you thought.  Next up, Castle Rock, July 23rd!
