Why am I attending the WBC2012 and what do I want to get out of it?

I have been blogging for about three or so years now. Last year I saw a Google Alert come in about the Wine Bloggers Conference 2011. I had missed it… It was telling about all the twitter posts, follows, retweets and such, and that there were about 350 attendees. I was so excited to find out that WBC2012 was going to be in Portland, OR. I just visited Portland last summer and got to venture to a few wineries. I love it there and hope to one day make that the final destination for our family.

I am anxious to make tons of new friends at this conference. I have already met a few people on Twitter that are going and am excited to meet them in person. The lineup of speakers and events is mind blowing. I recently met Joe Roberts with 1 Wine Dude, who is going to be speaking at the this year’s conference, at a Drink Local Wine Conference Featuring Colorado Wines.

My expectations are High and Low at the same time. High that I am going to learn from some of the best in the industry on how to write better blogs and how to monetize them to make a living off what I love to do... Drink Wine, Review them, and Share it with the world. Low expectations because I have no idea what to expect! I am sure that I will be WOWed every step of the way and hope that I can retain everything... and hoping I don't drink too much wine. I should really practice spitting! It just seems like alcohol abuse to waste it. :-) If someone told me it was a sign of respect to the winemaker, then maybe I could do it!

My friend and I are partaking in the 2 day pre-conference excursion and are just tickled Rose'. How many new friends can you make on this trip?! I should run a contest. I am anxious to try new wines and meet new winemakers so that I can add their wineries to my growing list of ones I have visited!

I guess it comes down to this.. I would love to win 2 FREE hotel nights... This would give me more Wine Money!

Next year’s conference I hear is going to be in Canada... Have to go get my Passport renewed so I can see you all there!
